Yep. mine is DP-2-HDMI and it causes the monitor to require a power cycle after every video mode change, otherwise the contrast is bleached out: cheap wallymart ONN brand.
HDMI was originally designed and intended for television use, not computers, and remains its primary target use. DisplayPort was designed and intended for computer use, so likely the best path to take if spending money on more hardware is to be the way forward trying to solve this problem.
re HDMI designed for TV...might be a slight oversimplification since for a period of time most GPUs and computer monitors favored HDMI...and wasn't HDMI wsuppose to he the holy grail of "connects everything"?
