I recently decided to switch from Stable (Bookworm) to Testing (Trixie/Sid). Everything is working great *except* when I plug in an HDMI cord I no longer can send audio to the TV. There is no additional audio option to select apart from the normal one on my PC -- Lenovo Yoga.
To narrow down the possible issue and ensure it's not something I've corrupted on my install, I booted off Debian Live DVDs for Bookworm (which works) and Trixie/sid which exhibits the same issue -- no HDMI option to select for audio output.
I get the same output from aplay -l on both:I've compared audio packages installed (dpkg -l | grep "audio") and apart from normal version differences between installed, I also see the following on a Trixie/sid boot that is not in Bookworm:and the following on a Bookworm boot that are not included in Trixie/sid:
