Debian does have a multimedia maintainers team who concentrate on ensuring a good experience when using Debian for multimedia tasks - https://wiki.debian.org/DebianMultimedia. They do not maintain a separate suite however, you have to research and find which applications you wish to use. I recommend Kdenlive for video, and Gimp and Digikam for images. The best choice may depend on which DE you use.
The default kernels in Debian are good for multimedia already. There are several 3rd party kernels available which may have certain advantages eg. I use Liquorix which works well for audio production.
There is a dedicated multimedia distro called AVL-MXE (AV Linux - MX Edition) which comes packed with applications. It is based on MX which is based on Debian.
