Hi all -
I'm logging off for today - my eyes are burning - too much screen time for an old guy.
However, I have restored from backup, made the non-free & contrib additions to the sources.list lines.
I also figured out that to see the Wayland/X11 switcher, you have to login at boot, then logout, then at the bottom left of the screen the Virtual Keyboard toggle is replaced with a Wayland/X11 toggle. I am now definitely running X11.
Regards.
