Okay, follow-up on this the next day: it seems that Wayland looks like it's working, even CUDA tasks run (GPU tasks for BOINC apps, for instance), for a while, but then after a bit a closed app will leave an unresponsive task bar icon, apps started from pinned icons on the task bar will do this with their pinned icon (and can no longer be started from that icon, though they can from the main KDE-logo launcher), and eventually the KDE logo launcher will fail to respond (usually taking the shutdown button with it). I switched back to X11 and none of this stuff is happening.@Silent Observer would it be possible for you to please share the link to the Debian instruction page you found on installing nVidia that was recently updated? Also what changes did you do to make KDE work with Wayland?
Looks like we have to wait for a later version of the nVidia driver to land in backports to get full use of nVidia with Wayland.
