On windows, you just have cmd.exe or the newer "power shell". On Linux, you have the choice between multiple shells. "bash" is one of them and is used by default in Debian. It processes your commands like "cd" (change directory, much like in DOS) or "ls -l" (list files in long format, like "dir" in DOS, but way more powerful). The word "bash" is an acronym for "Bourne Again SHell" which was derived from the Bourne Shell. It has nothing to do with bashing Image may be NSFW.

There are lots of how-tos and introduction books available for free in https://forums.debian.net/viewforum.php?f=16 or https://www.debian.org/doc/. Just ask your search engine.
BTW, most of the problems I read about in the Ubuntu forums result from Ubuntu urging users into snap, Wayland, Pipewire by default. There hardly are any reasons to use them in Debian. Especially snap makes absolutely no sense. For me, Snap was the main reason to run away from Ubuntu.
KDE surely is okay, but I found Gnome 2 and now Xfce much easier to handle. For my taste, KDE is way too overloaded. The newer versions of Gnome are completely unusable to my opinion, although some people like it. Anyway, I can't understand why so many distributions make it their standard environment.
