System and Network configuration • No can hibernate when running Live USB?

/sys/power/disk
Yes, this file was dynamically/virtually created by the Linux kernel (6.10.9) after boot.

OTOH
. . . a corresponding entry was made to the /etc/fstab file.
This step was not necessary (because it would never be seen by the kernel). But I also failed to mention an important kernel parameter: resume=LABEL=swap-sid. During wake up from hibernation, kernel will bypass the bootloader and it needs to know where to find the system image.

Actually I am not sure whether this kernel boot parameter is necessary. With an installed system, Sid will go into and wake up from hibernation without it.
