Off-Topic • ARP requests failing

Hello,
I'm running Wireshark on a mac.
The ARP response message from your OMV computer (in response to a broadcast ARP request message from your scanner) should not be a broadcast message: it is a message destined for an interface with a specific MAC address (the MAC address of your scanner).

So, when the OpenWRT router receives an ARP response message from the OMV computer, it should only forward it to the recipient's ethernet interface (the scanner's ethernet interface). This should be done at both the logical (protocol) and physical (e.g. physical network segment) layers.

Therefore, wireshark on the machintosh should not be able to listen to an ARP reply message that is not addressed to the ethernet interface it is running on.
