You must uncomment (remove the # from) a line in order to enable that option.

Therefore it should be like this:

Code:

AllowSuspendThenHibernate=yes
At the time I read it, I have never uncommented it in Debian 11.x and it has worked for me as indicated above.
It was when upgrade to Debian 12 that it stopped working.

Now, I'm back to Debian 12 and it works again with the uncommented line.
I uncommented mine and it still won't sleep or suspend for me, would you mind posting your sleep.conf that's working so I can compare with mine?
Yes, of course, my sleep.conf is the one posted above, but I'll put it again.

You must have swap, either in swap partition or in file (I prefer partition), and in power management, activate, when not in sleep hibernation after a period of inactivity.

That period is taken from sleep.conf.

But you say that it does not suspend or hibernate, is this correct?
If that is the case, then the problem is another.

This is my sleep.conf:

Code:

[Sleep]#AllowSuspend=yes#AllowHibernation=yes#AllowSuspendThenHibernate=yes#AllowHybridSleep=yes#SuspendMode=#SuspendState=mem standby freeze#HibernateMode=platform shutdown#HibernateState=disk#HybridSleepMode=suspend platform shutdown#HybridSleepState=diskHibernateDelaySec=20min
