Hardware • [SOUND] No HDMI Audio On Clean Debian 12 Installation

Setup: An Asus E420 MiniPC with 16gb RAM, a 2TB SSD connected to a TV set with an HDMI cable:
Software: Fresh install of Debian 12, Gnome, LightDM
Background: I've tried other Linux Distros and the sound has worked out of the box (Fedora, Trisquel, Septor) with no changes to the hardware configuration, but so far no luck with Debian.

Details:

lspci -v | grep -i audio output:

00:1f.3 Audio device: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-LP HD Audio (rev 21)
Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Sunrise Point-LP HD Audio

aplay --list-devices output:

**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 0: ALC255 Analog [ALC255 Analog]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 1: ALC255 Digital [ALC255 Digital]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 3: HDMI 0 [Sceptre N55]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 7: HDMI 1 [HDMI 1]

Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 8: HDMI 2 [HDMI 2]

When I run Alsamixer from terminal it initially identifies the card as Pulseaudio (default 0) but I can use F6 to change it to Card: HDA Intel PCH, Chip: Realtek ALC255. Nothing is muted (in the mixer or the TV).

Suggestions?
