I don't recommend replacing one XFCE4 directory with another. It doesn't work. It screws up the existing desktop. To restore the old desktop I simply deleted the offending XFCE4 and re-booted, and that created a new one from scratch.
I do have another question though. On the LM computer I want to install Debian on I don't have separate partitions for root and home. So on the installer I chose the erase disk option. But it looked like it was going to add about a 16 gig swap partition at the end. I cancelled the install. Does Debian require a separate swap partition? I noticed on the system I installed Debian on there is no swapfile.
